First Bank Reconciliation - GL Balance

On my first bank recon the GL balance shown on the right panel isn't the GL balance of the account.  The lines on the left panel balance and if I calculate the recon, bank statement amount +- outstanding items it balances to the GL only the GL amount shown isn't correct. Is there a way to recalc that amount or post a balancing entry that doesn't affect the GL account since it is actually correct?

Go to your bank account card. Check the gl account assigned to the bank account posting group. Make that account a direct posting account. Create a journal line for that account and balance it to the bank account record. This will create 3 entries. 2 are gl and will thus credit and debit one another. The other will be a credit or debit (depending on your journal/needs) to the bank account ledger
