Hello all
My company has a live Nav 2013 production server with a heavily customised nav software. We now want to install the development and administration environment and then create a test dB. The it guys have created a dev server as a virtual machine. My plan is to install nav 2013 on this new server. How do I ensure I have the production dB which is on a different server available here and also create a new server instance for the test environment
Cheers
Sandy

So whats the Problem?
Question is your VM where you have installed NAV and the one where you have SQL with DB should be connected with firewall overruled.
We have the same environment where we have 2 VM one with Client one with SQl, We use to access with the IP of that VM where SL is there but with SQL Authentication.
Hi Sandy,
At the time you do the installation, you can define the server details, SQL server details, Database etc.
Refer this URL and get an idea
docs.microsoft.com/.../walkthrough--installing-the-three-tiers-on-three-computers
when you install nav one of the parameters will be the config of the new instance; in this one you should enter the test_bd.
