Possibly Missing Web Pages in Custom Portal

Posted on by

Do the web pages Change Password, Change Email, and Account come with the basic installation of Custom Portals on Dynamics CRM? My Profile web page has 2 buttons named Change Password and Change Email on a navigation sidebar that leads to https://xxxxxxxxx.microsoftcrmportals.com/Account/Manage/ChangePassword and https://xxxxxxxx.microsoftcrmportals.com/Account/Manage/ChangeEmail, but I don't have any web pages that lead to either.

Are these web pages out-of-the-box features that are included with the installation?

I installed Custom Portals after adding ADXStudio v. 7.0.0022 to my CRM, would this mess up my new installation of Custom Portals? Should I reinstall my Custom Portals after removing ADXStudio?

I'm using version Custom Portals 8.1.0.375.

Thanks everyone

That clears up a lot of confusion for me. Is there any way to access the Change Password/Account files? Is there a specific Site Setting I need to add in order to access the aforementioned links?

    Thanks!

    Hi Daniel

The change password, etc. don't have corresponding web page records or page templates in the Portal data, these lead to pages on the backend.  They are "out of the box" but the content/layout is pretty much controlled by content snippets, site settings, etc.  Does that help?

My understanding is that currently, there is no official or supported upgrade path from v7 to v8 (yet... can't say more, NDA, wink)  so you do need to uninstall v7 completely and then install v8.  I suspect that doing a v8 on top of v7 will modify some entities and data, but not others.  Some of the v7 page templates and user controls (for example, e-commerce) do not yet exist in v8.

    Hope this info helps.

    Cheers

    Nick
