Sales order - consumption of available stock from a different location of the same warehouse using WMS.

Hi,

I have raised a sales order for 4 quantity of item number A290 and have 2 quantities of stock available in location 10_1_1_4 and 2 quantities of the same item in location 10_1_1_6 of the same warehouse (WHS10A). I am using WMS to process the sales order from the warehouse and have reserved the stock for the order before releasing to warehouse, but I get the following message on the screen. Please help understand how to consume available stock of the same item number from a different location of the same warehouse using WMS.

    Hi Neeta,

    Leaving location query blank means you are not specifying any particular locations to be considered for picking and Dynamics now can pick from any location where inventory is available.

    You still haven't answered that if you have released the sales order to warehouse? If yes what are the locations taken by system in your work generated?

    Which menu item you are using to process your work in mobile device?

    Kindly answer above questions so as to help me suggest further.

    Hi Sagar,

    Thank you for the reply. Yes, I have reserved the sales order. In the location directives setup, I have left the Locations query blank so as to be able to enter any location at the time of the process and not restrict to a particular location.

    Appreciate for a solution for such scenario.

    Hi Neeta,

    You have stock in two locations is fine but sales order reservation does not do reservation on locations.

    The identifications of locations is done by location directives when you release the sales order.

    So locations will be identified while you release your sales order to warehouse using release option.

    Have you released your sales order?

    If yes what are the locations in the work generated for the sales order picking?

    From your screenshot it seems you are manually trying to input some location which is not needed generally as Dynamics will determine location to be picked from by itself and you just process the work generated by the system.
