Dictionary upgrade from 8 to 11 SP1

Posted on by 1,075

Hi all,

My client is going for upgrade of GP from version 8 to 2010. I have my dexterity customization resides with GP8. Now I am trying to re-compile my customization source dictionary to Dex11.0.1524 (GP2010 with SP1). Few constants are completely removed in Dynamics.DIC of version 11.0.1524. For example: DYNAMICS, CH_COLON, CH_SPACE, EMPTY_DT_MONTH etc.

I have re-created them in 11.0.1524 to make my customization to work since those constants. But I would like to know that will it cause any implications later during course of time and for further version upgrades. If anyone knows the reason behind removing those constants from source dictionary, kindly let me know and you suggestions are most welcome to avoid misbehavior of my customization.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Vijay

    Vijay,

Please look at this posting by David Musgrave.
