Unable to depreciate Fixed Assets

Posted on by 170

I am unable to depreciate fixed assets for January 2010. I have already checked Book SetUp to make sure that the current fiscal year is 2010 and have saved this. However, when I go into depreciation process Information to depreciate all assets, the "Depreciate" button at the top is completely "grayed out" and can not be chosen. What am I missing?

Excellent solution - appreciate the deterministic approach to T-SQL and it worked just fine for me!!

    Bechidethuong,

The proper way to delete from this table would be DELETE FROM FA40203.

Just as an added layer of safety, I would suggest adding in a Where clause and using the DEX_ROW_ID to make sure you only affect the records you intend.

Example: DELETE FROM FA40203 WHERE DEX_ROW_ID='xxx'

Also, I can confirm that this method has fixed this issue a few times for me.

I'm not sure what you mean by " there is a line remaining in the above table - you can delete it." Can I write - delete * from FA40203?

    Hi there,

Seen this before. Can you check in SQL, look at the FA40203 table against the database. When we have had it in the past, there has been a lock in this table. Get users out of Fixed Assets screens, or just out of GP in general, and then if there is a line remaining in the above table - you can delete it. Most likely going to be locked by the user account you are currently logged into GP with.

Please let me know if that works.

    Thanks

    Mark
