Hi,
I haven't used the account rollup inqiry much so I don't know if this is the norm but after I select an option ID and then a period and click on the column header to move to the details for that period the system is super slow to pull up the accounts and their actual balances. It taxes approx one minute to load the balances.
Is this normal for this window? This is a brand new install on new hardware and my account range is set to be the range for the balance sheet in this case to get a high level view of the accounts.
As a comparison, if I write a query to do the same work it runs within 1-2 seconds or less.
Anyone else run into this or have an idea?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Belinda and Vijay,
Thanks for your input and follow up.
I have not worked on this issue in some time as we got around it with a customized report which was a good solution given the requirements.
I will let you know if it comes up again.
Thanks,
Adam
Adam,
You might also want to consider using the Excel Refreshable Reports. Build it once in Excel and data-fresh (on data worksheet), data-fresh (on pivot table). Done. This will leave you with more options!
Hi Adam,
Did you find the solution to improve the perfomance of Account Rollup Inquiry window? If so, please let me know how to get rid of this poor performance of this window.
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Vijay
I doubt there's any way to optimize this Adam but maybe some experts will chime in . . .
Yep, I agree it would depend on the number of accounts and transactions and I definately tested that it does.
I just didn't know if there was some optimization that could be done becuase if I put together a SQL query to return the same account level summaries that this inquiry screen returns it is very, very fast. My assumption is that GP is doing extra stuff that I was hoping could be avoided...
It depends on how many accounts and transactions you're pulling. I ran a test in Fabrikam on the full range of BS accounts and it took 2-3 seconds to pull in the balances for 23 accounts. Fabrikam is a very small database in terms of transaction volume.
Hope this helps,
