Posting a Credit Memo

Hi Everyone!

We are working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 and we are having an issue posting credit memos.

Error Message: Inventory Account must have a value in Inventory Posting Setup: Location Code=DEFECTIVE, Invt. Posting Group Code=GENERAL. It cannot be zero or empty

Question: Are we doing something wrong that is not letting us post? We never had this issue before, so we are curious if maybe we didn't enter the information correctly. 

Please any advice will be wonderful

    Hi C Espinoza17,

    Please check the Inventory Posting Setup with Location Defective & It's relation with Inventory Posting Group = General, and set an Inventory Account number for this combination.

    Hi,

    Open the inventory posting setup and filter the location code with "Defective" and Inv posting grp code "General", the inventory accounts is missing for these combination. You need to update the account no. there. It will solve your issue.

    Go to Inventory Posting Setup and check if there is a combination of Location = DEFECTIVE and Inventory Posting Group = GENERAL. Then look at the Inventory Account. If it is blank, you need to fill it in.

    It's hard to tell the reason, but maybe you have a new location called DEFECTIVE and this has not been setup properly in the past. Or someone changed the setup.
