Migration to GP 2015

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello Community,

We are migrating to GP 2015 from GP 2010. What kind of tests do I need to run pre-upgrade to make sure all information has properly flown through to GP 2015? Do I need to run Trial Balance, AP and AR balances?

Thank you for anticipated help.

It would be preferred if you could do a test upgrade first and then have users test by doing test postings and that all reports work. The GL TB and AP and AR TB's are requirements but make sure your customer and vendor lists have not changed. Running check links, which is part of all upgrades, may remove something you do not expect. You will want to upgrade to GP2010 SP4(11.00.2248) first to go directly to GP 2015 R2. Make sure that reports like sales invoices and purchase orders work as well as all customizations.
