Closing a PO with a line item not received

Hi there,

I have a client that has an old purchase order from 2015 that had several lines on it and all of them with the exception of one has been closed or cancelled, the final line items has a status of Released, however in the Edit PO Status function you cannot change it to cancelled or closed, therefore they are unable to close the PO itself.

Can someone please advise how this client and close this line and purchase order so that it can be moved to history.

    Tried cancelling, said remaining qty must be greater than cancelled.  This was a linked PO to SO plus Olympic Project Cost.  I ended up having to clean it up in SQL.  The user made several mistakes, when receiving and billing and their correction method was to just enter additional transactions so all the numbers were right, it was the PO and even one SO was left hanging out there.  Once I did my SQL maintenance, then ran reconcile purchasing documents, I then could move them to history and marked the vendor inactive.

    Thanks but sometimes the backend is easiest as long as you know what you’re doing.

    has the line had any receipts on it??

    cancel the remaining amount ...

    Hi Leslie,

    So we tried to cancel the entire line by cancelling the whole quantity but received an error message that indicated that the quantity cancelled must be less than the remaining quantity.  Any other suggestions?

    Can you open up the PO in the Purchase Order entry window and put a quantity cancelled on the line containing the lone item? You should then be able to move the PO to history
