Lost Linked Documents After Upgrade to GP10

Posted on by 55

Thanks In Advance...

In AR, we had attached documents via notes to some of our AR documents,  these seem to be gone (links via OLE) after we upgraded from gp9 to gp10.  Has anyone experienced this?

Yes,  it may in fact be the ole path, which is different in the old dex.ini, then what is in the new dex, or in fact what I believed to be the correct path... So, I will change it to what the previous dex.ini had in GP9, and let you know.  Thanks,

Yes , thanks John, I did examine the ole path and tried to set it to where these documents are located, however it's as if the document was never attached (i.e. GP no longer thinks a document was attached at all, therefore it does not provide the user with the option.)...

Seems as if the link was either broken or lost in the conversion???

Do you know where the OLE note storage folder was on your old version?  Didyou configure a shared OLE note folder in your new install?  If so, simply copy the notes in the existing folder to your new location.  The locations of these folders can be determined by examining the dex.ini file in the old and new clients.
