Set an advanced lookup as the default

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

The user has an advanced lookup on the Sales Documents Lookup for Sales transaction entries. She would like to make this advanced lookup the default so that they do not have to constantly select it from the list. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

Ethotech has a free product called SmartSort. You can change the default sort using this tool. You can change it for a specific user if you want.

    Check it out

    Kind regards,

Unfortunately, you can set up default views for master records but there is no option for transaction lookups at this time. Bummer...

    Hi Nola,

    which version you are in?

Did this happen in SA user?

create a custom Advance lookup as default through SA to make changes and check with other user ids.

I examined this in my environment and you are correct that option is not present for the Transaction by Document lookup window.  I'm not sure why though.  Perhaps you could submit it to Microsoft as a feature request for future versions?

Thanks Jonathan. I only see that option for the customer record and not for the documents.

If you are using Dynamics GP 2013 you should be able to accomplish this.

    1. With the Advanced Lookup open and the results on the screen in the top left section is a button that reads View.  Click on the down triangle and select the option that reads Set as Default.
