GP 2015 Reports Arabic printing problem

Dear All,

After installation of GP2015 I faced problem in printing Arabic text.

when printing any document like customer invoice there is some Arabic info like customer name after printing the invoice on screen the Arabic text appears as rubbish text then I switch windows language to Arabic so I can see the Arabic info clearly but when I print it using printer it is printed as rubbish text.

notes:

the Arabic info appears right on the screen and the problem is in the reports only so I think it is not related to the SQL collation.

I use SQL 2012, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 at the clients machines.

Kindly if anyone knows this problem or it's solutions update me ASAP.

    Hi,

    I test this case in latest version Dynamics GP 2015 R2 (14.00.0817) and the issue still there, print out document will show Arabic text in rubbish way.

    is there any workaround to solve this issue?

    Hi,

    Try using SSRS rather than GP report writer.

    Following up on this case, it seems we have another issue with the Arabic Characters as the Web Client is not printing correct characters neither on the screen, file nor the printer.

    As shown below, the reference field contains Arabic Characters, and is printing as below on the web client. While the same report is printed correctly on the desktop version.

    I appreciate any feedback form Microsoft Support Engineer on this;

    This problem started with GP 2015, we've opened an incident with Microsoft and it was resolved in March Hotfix. Here is a blog post on that. Apparently, the problem was resolved only for the desktop version, as the web client is still struggling to print "Arabic Character"

    Hello Mahmoud,

    Just a follow up on this issue, the printing Arabic issue has been resolved with the March hot fix, here is a detailed reference on this issue.

    An update on an old post, GP 2015 has a problem with the Arabic Characters specifically, when printing on the screen it works perfectly while they turn out to be rubbish when sending the reports into printer.

    We have worked on this case with Microsoft and they confirmed the bug, this is expected to be resolved in the next release. Here is a reference for the issue: Dynamics GP - Printing Arabic Characters

    Not sure this will be any help, if you printing the same from web client how is that works.

    Hello Mahmoud Shafiey,

    The new GP 2015 is automatically switching the input language to English upon printing the report which makes the issue we are facing right now in Arab countries, unfortunately we couldn't find any solutions to the issue till the moment and I am initiating a support request with Microsoft support team to get this resolved, hoping to get a solution soon considering that this is a business critical issue that is stopping the customer workflow.

    It just happened that I had the exact same case in an environment GP 2015 (upgraded from 2013)
