How to attach multiple contact to an opportunity?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi there,

Is there a way of aligning multiple contacts from the same account to an opp? So that they come under the opp's 'related' records?

Presently we have one lookup field for key contact, but there are opportunities where we have more contacts other than the key contact and would want to see their activities too in the opp form.

    Hi Nithya

I need something similar.  I want to "DISPLAY" all the contacts for the account on an Opportunity.  I have an opportunity with an account.  I add a subgrid to the opportunity form.  I want to look at the account on the opportunity, the look at the contacts on the account, and display all contacts from that account on the opportunity view.  I don't want to add a contact, I would like to see ALL contacts in the sub grid.

    How can I do this?

Thanks but we already have all contacts of the account show in the opportunity form.

I require for all the activities of the contacts to show in the opportunity.

    Hi,

There is diff way to do this, if it is the case to use all related account associated contacts to opportunity you can use this

    community.dynamics.com/.../138580

If you need direct connection with opportunity entity you have to make 1:M relationship and show in sub grid.

    Hi,

You can do relate multiple contact to opportunity using N:N relationship as suggested or you can utilise connection for the same

    docs.microsoft.com/.../describe-relationship-entities-connection-roles

    www.powerobjects.com/.../record1-or-record2-creating-a-connection-and-how-to-search-for-related-records

but to see their activities you need to develop something, one option could be to write a fetchxml report where you can get activities related to the opportunity contacts.

    Hi,

Create a custom N:N relationship between oppoturtunity and contact.

Now show a subgrid of Contacts in Opportunity form.

In this subgrid, you can add any existing contacts to the opportunity.

    Hope this helps.
