Error message when you try to connect to a store database server from Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations Administrator: "To connect to this server you must use SQL Server Management Studio or SQL Server Management Objects"

Notes:

Windows server 2012

SQL Server 2008

Dont have to install 2005 server at all if u are using 2008. Just install the bc for either x86 or 64

Do you have to have the sql 2005 express installed 1st before the backward compatibility? this is a new build pointing at sql 2008, trying to do the CU5 update.

Hi,

is this a new installation?

did you install SQL 2005 Express while RMS installation?

RMS SOA Server:- YOUR-SERVERNAME\SQLEXPRESS

make sure use the same user name and password that you assign while installing SQL

how can i get the sql server 2005 backward compatibility, could you help me with it i have problems because a change sql 2005 to sql 2008 r2, a can't connect with administrator
