User cannot change companies

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have recently upgrade from GP 9 to 10. Everything is working well, but 1 user cannot change companies by clicking on the company name in the lower left. When he clicks, nothing happens. He can change users and dates, but not companies. Any ideas where to look or what is happening? Best I can tell this security is in Default User, which is included in the user's security.

Thanks

    RE: User cannot change companies

Hello I'm having the same Issue, I logged in with my own user to see if it was security, and it is not the case.

I copied the set file from another computer that works fine and did not resolved the issue.

    any other ideas?

    Hello,

This issue appears to be related to the Dynamics Set file rather than Collections Management.

In a GP environment similar to that of Sandip, when tested, the user was able to change:

    • the company
    • the user
    • the date

Per  Microsoft, it was determined that the products order in the Dynamics set file appears to be the issue.

In the Sandip's case , the issue occurred after the Payroll Year End module was installed in GP.

It was resolved by rearranging the order in the Dynamics Set file as suggested by Microsoft.

Thank you Sandip for your input!

    Regards,
     Ben Dosso

Bill, You are saying Dynamics GP utilities? I have already ran that one. But let me check it again.

    Thanks

Sandip, I think the issue is related to a need to run Utilities again on this computer.  I had the exact same issue - only one user active with Collections, log in fine for primary company, but not for another, less used.

Ran utilities and it resolved the problem.

I'm not sure. Once I assigned the CMDefaultUser task to the user who could not change companies, it solved my problem. I guess yours is different cause.

Sorry, I should have said Task not Role. I was looking it up in the Roles window and typed the wrong thing. CMDefaultUser is a default Security Task ID.

    George,

Appreciate for your quick reply. We are in Dynamics GP 2013 R2. I don't see CMDefaultUser role. Are you on GP2013 too?

This is happen after installing Payroll Year End Update and new version of CM 12.0.61

    Thanks

I granted the user the CMDEFAULTUSER role. Hope that helps.

    George,

What kind of security you have updated to user on Collection Management. I am getting exact same issue with GP2013 R2. We are using Collection Managment.

    Thanks

    Sandip
