How do I setup a code for jury duty?

I used the pay type "other" but it doesn't allow me to base the pay off of the salary code.

Thank you for using Microsoft Online Communities. I understand that you are wondering how to setup a pay code for jury duty. You mentioned you tried other but you were not able to base it on the salary code.

There are 5 different payroll codes that you can setup to have a based on code.

1. Overtime

2. Double time

3. Vacation

4. Sick

5. Holiday

The last three codes will actually reduce to hours paid to the employee from the salary and then pay the rest through that particular code.

Note if you are sick or vacation and using payroll for you vacation and sick time this will reduce the amount that is available. Over time can be setup to with a pay factor of 1 but would pay in addition to the salary code and would not reduce the salary time paid.

If you use the over time or double time you could reduce out the hours for the salary by doing an hours adjustment in the Payroll Transaction Entry window. You could also use the other pay code and you would have to calculate the hourly rate and back out the hours from the salary pay code as well.
