Hi,
Just a quick question. If you have a single purchaser who deals with POs for a number of departments, is there a way of directing an approval to a specific department head at the time of doing the PO?
So say we have Julie, who works in Engineering. Her approver is the Engineering Director. But if she's making up a PO for someone in another department, how can she direct the approval of that PO to the relevant department head?

One way to achieve that is with dimensions. You would have a Department dimension, and each Department value is tied to a different workflow/approver.
For example, you would have an Engineering Department dimension, and on a PO the Engineering Department dimension is selected triggering the workflow to send it for an approval to the Engineering Director. If on a PO the Marketing department is selected, the workflow would send it for approval to the Marketing Director and so on.
You can also create a list of specific Power Automate flows that goes to different specific users, so that might be a workaround that you can use.
as far as i know i don't think there is any such kind of functionality available in the standard system, but yes you can customized it.
