Find inventory transactions with different distributions

Posted on by 2,395

Hi, i'm trying to find transactions that where posted both on inventory and GL but have different distributions, IE someone posts to inventory with:

1300-0000       1300-0056

And then the accountant changes the distribution on GL to:

1300-0005       1300-0056

is there a way to find this transactions?

Regards.

    Hi Alvaro,

I think you may want to compare the GL20000 table to the IV30500 table. The IV30500 table is the Inventory Distribution History table. If you are using GP2013 you can run the GL reconcile utility which will compare those amounts for you.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Yes.  Keep in mind that the account numbers are not stored in the Inventory Distribution tables but an index that identifies the account is there.  Look in GL00105 for the account numbers and find the matching indexes.  Now you can search in SQL for records in the Inventory Distribution tables with these accounts.

If you have SmartList Builder, it is easier as SLB can tie the distribution table to the 105 table and give you a list of distributions with account numbers.  You can  then use filters to find the data you need.

You can create a report in Excel Report Builder, SSRS, or Crystal.
