Is GP2010 compatible with Office 365?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi all,

Wondering if there is anyone out there using GP2010 with Office 365?

I would like to ask is GP2010 compatible with Office 365?

Namely being able to email invoices and statements from GP2010 through Office 365's Exchange Online?

Thank you.

Thank you Almas for the screenshots, much appreciate your trouble.

Thank you Justin for sharing your experience.

It seems if the GP2010 desktop client also has a local Outlook 2013 installed with an outlook profile that connects to Office 365 exchange online, then it will have the email functionality.

    That's interesting. :-)

I have GP2010 and using Office 365 and it seems it's working. May be I am missing something from your question.

    Hello Stephen,

Unfortunately Dynamics GP 2010 will generally not work with Office 365 and hosted Exchange.  The email functionality relies on Extended MAPI and with a hosted exchange environment you would not have an extended MAPI profile setup on the client machine.  So with that, once you make the move to Office 365 you may no longer have the ability to send emails from Dynamics GP.

That said, I have seen some cases where GP 2010 and Office 365 do work together.  The specific difference seems to be if the end users are using Office 365, or if they are still on Office 2010 (leaving the profile setup) and connecting to a Office 365 server.

Unfortunately, testing in your system is the only way to be sure it will work in your specific environment.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions on this.

    Justin Sutton

    Hi Almas,

Thank you. The reason I was wondering is because according to the below page from Microsoft, Office365 is not supported with any Dynamics GP 2010 features or functionalities.

So I was wondering is the above correct and if others have success in using GP2010 with Office265?

    Thanks in advance.
