Hi guys,

just curious, when we enter date value which do not have calendar tools, for example in Filter on column, what is the better way of doing it, without worry about date format of the system like MM//DD/YYY or DD/MM/YYY. I tried to put as "I thought" to be the default way of system works, YYYYMMDD which turns out wrong, there is no default way.

Do we have some common rule for this date input or we should take a look what is the system date format and follow.

Thanks,

Yes you can change the date format under edt or control options. But filter works only based on the user options.

Normally Date time and Number format will be empty - At that time default format is MMDDYYY.

    Thanks,

    Girish S.

So meaning, there is no common way of type it, instead we need to take a look at User options, what is the current format ? This is a must, right ?

    Hi VoltesDev,

Date format will work based on the Date format settings under User options >> Preferences >> Date time and Number format. If you set En-Us as language preference the default date format will be MMDDYYY. Like that it will vary.

    Thanks,

    Girish S.
