Multiple extensions at the same time

I have heard that in the D365 BC you can only run 4 extensions at the same time.
Can anyone confirm this? Does it apply to both tenant extensions and ISV?

If so, why? And is there any restriction in merging different extensions into one big?

    Never see this limitation, you can run more than 4 extensions.
