E-mail settings on business portal

Hello,

I did e-mail setting  on business portal and also added the users e-mail in active directory.

But when i sent a vacation request as a user the manager didn't receive an e-mail alert to that effect.

What could have cause this issue and how do i resolve it?

    Are you sure the email is firing correctly from SharePoint? Try the following KB:

    920824 Business Portal does not send an alert even though you configured the "Alert Me" function in Business Portal to send alerts when a Web part is changed
