Understanding benefit of child records

Posted on by

I have a challenge in that I want to modify the User entity form to carry additional attributes for business-specific information; however, we have AD Sync and the records are locked.

A suggestion was made on this forum to create a child record of the User record.

Can someone explain the features of a child record?  What does this do for me other than giving me a direct connect back to the parent through a workflow?

Thank you!

Deb

That's weird.  The other day I added the fields to the entity and when I browsed to the record it was read-only.  Maybe it was a specific record type.

It is working,.  Thank you for the reply!
