I never got a response on this the other day when I asked so I am asking again - The client is on 18.3.1200, do they have to go to 18.4 but October 1 to continue to use the email functionality in GP - I am not sure if they are using O365 or on prem exchange

I did answer on the other forum, but the answer to your question does really depend on if you're using O365/Exchange Online or your own on-prem Exchange server.

If O365, starting with Oct 2020 release, the modern auth functionality is available, but I would recommend going to the latest 18.4.xxxx build, as we've fixed some issues caused by having that functionality enabled.

By Oct 2022, you must be on a minimum GP 18.3.1173, using this modern authentication, in order to email per Exchange via O365, otherwise MAPI would be the only other option, which requires a 32-bit email application.

If you're using your own on-prem Exchange Server, you would still need basic authentication enabled on it, unless using the modern authentication mentioned above.
