Developer Preview/ Customization for Financials

Hello all,

Is there any way Dynamics 365 for Financials can be customized? In particular, any of the 3 options will solve my current problem:

1) Is the Developer Preview available for Dynamics 365 for Financials? If so, how can I try it?

2) Is there a way to publish Extensions on D365 for Financials?

3) Can we add some fields to be accessible through SOAP Web Services in Financials?

    Can you clarify on number 3?  You can add pages and queries to the Web Services page in Financials.  As a part of going through the wizard you get to select which fields you expose.

    Hi Chris,

    I followed those articles and was able to create and publish an extension on NAV. Not sure how to publish it on a Financials instance. Can you help?

    As for the web service wizard, I have never seen that. Can you please direct me to a blog/article or send a screenshot of how to get to it?

    Hello,

    For publishing apps please see the following.

    madeira.microsoft.com/.../madeira-develop-extensions

    Search for the Web Services page, at the top under 'Actions' click on the 'Create Data Set' button.  Walk through this wizard to publish a new Web Service with the fields you want.

    Hello,

    There is no way to do this right now.  Once the customization and Dev 2.0 stuff is released you'll be able to at least make look and feel changes on the fly specific to your tenant.

    Does anybody know if the 2.0 customization features are going to be released for both business and enterprise edition?  The post on the following link seems to say Microsoft will only be releasing the feature for Enterprise version: community.dynamics.com/.../584851

    I recently purchased a full license of Dynamics 365 Financials (Business) for my company to migrate to.  We really need to have customization features.  Even the ability to upload your own extension (with the current extension implementation) would be just fine.  I don't want to have to upload a custom extension to AppSource so everyone in the entire world can use an extension I made for my own company.  I'm honestly confused.

    Ian asks a great question.  We appreciate the roadmap being published, but it would be helpful for adoption to know what features of NAV are planned to be included in the Financials offering in both near and long term.  Clients want to get on board with D365, but cannot move if we don't know that Manufacturing and extensions will be available for example.

    The Dev 2.0 customization features will be coming to Dynamics Financials and NAV.  You can currently deploy an Azure VM and preview the feature right now.
