VAT Tax filing report for SAU region in D365 finance and operations

Hi members,

I would like to know if there are any standard reports available in D365 finance and operations for VAT Tax filing in SAU Region. The requirement is like I wish to see the summary of VAT transactions(Standard Rated - 15%, Zero Rated) involved and upon clicking the summary, i need to see the detailed transactions of it.

Is there any standard report available in D365 FO, that would meet this requirement or do we need to go with customization?

In case of customization, what is the best approach that we can do to meet it out, without involving Power BI ?

Kindly help me out to meet my requirement.

Hi @M Saravanan

I hope we don't have any out of box report was availble in D365FO and but you can check the below report whether it's meets your requirement or not.

Tax > Inquiries and reports > Tax transactions

We can achive the same using customization, If we have any similar reports, top of that we can add your additional changes. if not we have to built a report from the scratch.

There isn’t a dedicated out-of-box VAT filing report for the SAU region in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. The closest available option is under:
Tax > Inquiries and reports > Tax transactions
This gives you transaction-level details, but it won’t provide the summary drill-down (Standard Rated 15%, Zero Rated) exactly as you described.
👉 To meet your requirement, you’ll likely need customization. The best approach is:

Identify any existing tax reports that are structurally similar.

Extend them with additional summary logic and drill-down capability.

If no suitable base exists, build a new report directly in D365FO using SSRS or Electronic Reporting (ER), without involving Power BI.

This way, you can achieve both the summary view and the transaction drill-down in a single report tailored for VAT compliance in the SAU region.
