HMRC VAT UK- Issue in VAT return

Hi,

I have 1 query regarding the VAT return.

One of our client have done the all the required configuration in HMRC VAT setup, have submitted the VAT returns, also the header status is showing as "Accepted", but there is another Status field on the Return period showing as "Open" as per screenshot below

Is there anything i am missing, thus the return period status is still "open", what is the exact way to do the same.

    Hi Pushkar,

    The information for closing a period is send / provided by HMRC.

    Usually when you create the new period and send it to HMRC, the file you receive back should also contain information about the previous period and close it.

    There is no manual way to set the status to closed. The status is coming from HMRC directly.

    In case you already created a new period, already received a file from HRMC and expect that the period shown in the screenshot should be closed, please contact HMRC directly and clarify, why the periods remain open.
