Sales Lines Reservation / Allocation Report

Posted on by 15

We have multiple warehouses.

We release sales order a day advance for picking. Before releasing the order we need to review reservation/allocation of each sales lines.

Can anyone find me a (out of box) report which can show me how many sales lines are fully reserved, partially or not reserved.

AX version : Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations (1611)

Old post, but since you are doing one and one order, line quantity under general may help you:

Thanks Guy for your detailed response. Your knowledge is awesome.

You are correct, D365 doesnt have Inventory Transactions option on SO order lines. Even workspace doesnt help. And i was wondering if i was doing something wrong.

But surprisingly this option is available for PO lines, and thats my favorite, i tweak status filters to get what i want.

OK. If you use the Release to warehouse job to reserve stock to orders as you want to pick them, you can filter the sales order list page to show orders which you expect to have been released, but have the 'Release status' of Open or Partially released.

As you're not using that job, you could look at the 'Release sales order picking' form. It's not really designed to be part of the Warehouse management process, but it serves a purpose. Unfortunately, it will only show order lines for Items which have stock (i.e., if a line is not reserved, and can't be reserved, it won't show). So you can use it to review which lines are reserved and lines which are not reserved but could be and you can use it to make the reservation (by entering a quantity in 'Activate now' or 'Reservation quantity' fields).

In AX 2012, there is an Inquiry at Sales and marketing -> Inquiries -> Order status -> Backorder lines. If you set it to show 'Inventory transactions', it tells you whether each line is 'On order' or 'Reserved physical'. This is probably the closest fit (could be exported to Excel and pivoted to get the totals you want). But I can't find it in D365. It probably means there is a Work space or something to use. Have you had a look at those?

    Thanks Crispin for confirming.

I suspected that there is no Out Of Box report as i have checked almost all.

I will try to join the tables in that case :)

    Thanks

I don't know of a Standard Report with that data.

You can although create a new Report with some simple joins between SalesLine, InventTransOrigin, InventTrans.

    Hi Guy

    Thanks for your response

We are currently reserving manually. Which suits us.

    We are FMCG.

We used to have automatic reservation turned on but its hell lot of work to unreserve the

future orders because you dont want to reserve the current stock for the advanced orders.

(AUTO) Reservation by (AUTO) release to warehouse was an option but that doesnt suit us.

    Hi J_K,

How are you reserving inventory to sales lines? Manually? By 'Automatic' reservation parameter? By the 'Release to warehouse' job? Something else?
