Customer Postal Address, Primary and not primary

Hello guys,

In my current task to import Customer address, I'm using DMF to import, entity I'm using is Customer postal addresses.
During import, I'm splitting the customer address by 1st upload is those with IsPrimary=Yes, then run "Import Now" (so not a batch). After finish, then I'm uploading those with IsPrimary=No.

Logically, all my customer address which is the Primary address will be the 1st on the address list of that customer, then follow with those that not primary address.

While some are good, for example like this customer:

But there many customer I found with the Primary address is later then the non-primary.

For example like this:

If we see above picture, the address that Primary is Yes, Created date and time is 6:25am while the Primary=No, is 5:48am.
Anyone know what happened here ? I'm not using batch during import, so it is one by one, "Import now", wait until finished then the 2nd import which is the Non=primary.

Issue arises when Dual-Write jump into action and copy this for CRM. The 1st address is not the Primary instead the non-primary, which we expected the 1st will always the Primary.

Any input appreciated.
Thanks

    Hey,

Can you test & confirm whether the sorting is based on the "Purpose" code rather than the "Primary", this could be the possible reason why the system is not showing the addresses as per the timestamp. Thank You.

    Hi Voltes,

There is a standard data entity called DirPartyPostalAddressV2Entity in data management to achieve this. You can import both primary and non-primary addresses at the same time, through this data entity. Looks like these customers are existing customers whose addresses you are trying to modify.

    A few questions:
    1. Are you leveraging DirPartyPostalAddressV2Entity to achieve this requirement?
    2. Because you mentioned dual write are you leveraging DirPartyPostalAddressLocationCDSEntity in this case instead?
    3. Are these customers existing customers whose addresses you are trying to modify?

If you are using the CDSEntity then yes you will have to provide the location id and party record ids which can be a challenge.
