Right from the beginning we were told we had to process a payable transaction then post a miscellaneous charge in Project Accounting. Someone came back with a different suggestion to use receiving transaction entry but that is quite a lengthly process in itself. Confused me way more the project accounting. There are several different things that happened using this other method. When i voided the payable it didn't void the project that the costs was attached to. Also this way the entire invoice is calculated in the forecast cost. All my previous entries are pre-tax amounts which is the same as our old accounting program. How do i void the cost out of the project and is there any other easier way to attach a payable to a project that doesn' t require a double entry.
