job costing - job numbering

Posted on by 65

In the initial stages of setting up job costing in Dynamics GP 2010, is there any way to get the actual job numbers to increment so they will all be in the same format? I would like to prevent various individuals from using different styles.

Thank you - Conny

Not without a customization.  Job Costing is a pretty simplistic module.  An option could be to setup a certain number of jobs ahead of time and set them to 'Quote' status.  Users could then select the next 'unused' job and add the details.

    Hope this helps,
