Warning messages while creation of Questionnaire

Hi,

I am getting the following messages while creating a Questionnaire in Dynamics 365 Talent. I have created all the pre-requisities based on the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/talent/design-questionnaires

I have filled all the required fields with all the possible options I can see on the form but still the Warning messages pop. There is no particular sequence in which the message appear. They appear based on the fields I am filling in.

Warning message 1: You must specify a primary question.

(Neeta: I did fill it)

Warning message 2: The selected answer does not exist.

Warning message 3: The primary question must be of the type alternative button or combo box.

(Neeta: It is in the correct format. Have checked multiple times).

Warning message 4: The primary question must be part of the questionnaire.

(Neeta: Yes, it is part of the questionnaire and also in the list of the questions)

Warning message 5: Please select a different primary question. Your current selection will result in a circular reference.

(Neeta: Do not know what this means and what it is asking for)

I have entered all of the above messages in google to lookup for possible answers but in vain.

Please help ASAP.

Are you getting these warnings from the Validate button on the action pane for Design -> Questionnaires?

You must be creating a conditional questionnaire; are there more specific steps than the link you provided you are following?

For #1 - This warning occurs for a question that has been given a Primary question under the Relation group but the Answer number (numeric sequence) was not set to a value other than 0. Perhaps it would read better as "A Primary question has been specified but the Answer value is not a valid sequence number for the answers in the answer group." It seems it is possible for the default value of 0 to be initially kept for a new question and then this warning come out in validation, however if you set Answer to a non-zero value then try to change it back to 0 and save you should get this warning when saving on the Questions form.

For #2 – This may be somewhat similar to #1; this message would result from a conditional question that has its basis on a primary question Answer value that is not valid for the backing answer group. Say the primary question is a closed ended question with two answers numbered 1 and 2, if you put 3 in the Answer input this would warn because there is no such answer in the answer group.

For #4 – The only thing I can think of w/o more detail is that the question was created in the overall pool of questionnaire questions but has not specifically been assigned to be a question on the particular questionnaire design, but is referenced by another question as the value of a Primary question selection under the Relation group.

For #5 – In a conditional questionnaire the chain of questions cannot have a loop, If Q1 can send the responder to Q2 and Q2 can send them to Q3 which can send them to Q1 this is a circular reference and the questionnaire has the potential to never be able to be completed. You would need to verify your Question designs do not specify Relations through Primary questions that end up with such a reference.
