Connecting Dev Environment to UAT Ecommerce

We have some customization which Dev environment which needs online store transaction records for testing and no way that we can get this on Dev since the online store transaction records are coming from E-commerce front end (like sales order placed from the website). so, the question is can we can we connec Dev Channel DB with UAT eommerce.
