I was trying to restore a backup of my sandbox and it ended in the following error:
"An error occurred while preparing your instance."
Now my sandbox is unavailable.
Would it work to reset my sandbox and then restore a backup of my production to the sandbox?

Hi Richard,
Yes, Microsoft copied our production down to the sandbox. I did lose some of the development work in the Sandbox, but I was just glad to get the instance back up and running again.

We've run into the same issue today and we've submitted a ticket with Microsoft.
Did they manage to resolve the issue for you?

Hi Barbara, If your Sandbox is not able to be Reset you will need to log a support incident citing the Sandbox Url in question so an MS engineer will have to reset it for you so you can perform your restore from backup.
