This didn't work for my organization with the 8.2 Outlook Addin and a D365 backend. We're still getting the Update Available prompts.
Hi,
I am not sure whether this setting could help you resolve this issue, but you could have a try.
Go into Dynamics CRM and go into Settings -> Admin -> System Settings -> Outlook, there is an option at the bottom you can turn it off.
Hope it makes sense.
