Winthrop DCThis post is part of the New Features in GP Power Tools Build 26 sub-series of the GP Power Tools Build 26 & 27 New Features series in which I’m taking a look at the changes and new features since I last blogged about GP Power Tools.

The third area of new features I’m going to cover, is the Developer Tools module in which there are a number of new features:

  1. Publish Script by Users and/or Companies
  2. SQL Execute remember database selection
  3. Runtime Execute can generate Dexterity sanScript
  4. Parameters in Parameter Lists can be hidden
  5. Project Setup can stop triggers
  6. Script Editor can open full Dexterity help file

The Developer Tools is one an area of GPPT with which I have little experience, so I’ll more just be listing the new features than giving commentary on them.

Publish Script by Users and/or Companies

Runtime Execute, SQL Execute and .Net Execute can now control the users and/or companies to which a script is published:

Publish Script for Users

SQL Execute remember database selection

SQL Execute will now remember the database selection when running scripts against all databases.

Runtime Execute can generate Dexterity sanScript

Runtime Execute can now generate pass-through Dexterity sanScript for Visual C# and Visual Basic .Net including handling of parameters from an associated Parameter List.

Generate Dexterity Pass Through window

Parameters in Parameter Lists can be hidden

Parameters in Parameter Lists can now be hidden to allow parameter substitution for data populated by code rather than the user.

Project Setup can stop triggers

Project Setup can now stop all triggers and has an Add button for adding new components to a project.

Project Setup window

Script Editor can open full Dexterity help file

Runtime Execute Setup and Trigger Setup windows can now open full Dexterity help file from the script editor.
