We’ve started to see an uptick in cases regarding the Web Client homepage missing all of the menu items in GP18.4.1384. The issue stems from the ‘WebClient’ folder in the GP code folder not having the necessary files present.
This folder is the Web Client Runtime folder and gets created when you install Web Client Runtime from the GPDVD on the web server. This issue is fixed in the latest version of GP18.4.1434 which I'll link below, but if you’re not planning on upgrading to the latest and greatest, then it’s very possible that you’ll run into this issue.

The workaround for this is to install the Web Client Runtime from the Fall2020GPDVD (18.3) onto the web server, then copy the ‘WebClient’ folder that gets created into the new GP18.4 code folder. If you need the File Exchange link for GP18.3, then I’ll provide that below.

I’ll also a ‘WebClient’ zip file that contains the Web Client Runtime folder for 18.3. So, you’ll just need to unzip it, copy it to the GP18.4 code folder, restart IIS using an elevated Command Prompt as well as the Session Central and Session Service services, and you’ll be good to go.
As always, if you need any assistance with this process, please feel free to open a support case and we’ll do our best to assist.
