Last year Microsoft revealed plans for the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018 release, the next major release for GP expected December 2017. Below is a Roadmap, revealed March 20, at GPUG Amplify, showing plans to develop GP through 2019.
Not much info has been confirmed about new features and functionality for Dynamics GP 2018 yet, but expect improved integration to popular add-on apps, added business intelligence features, top requested features from customers and navigation enhancements. Expect to see improvements and new features for Financials, including payroll. Streamlined document management/attach functionality and a new version of Workflow are all likely to be critical components to the Dynamics GP 2018 release. Check back as we will update this post with new features as they are announced. Expect new info to be coming soon from Amplify 2017.
Microsoft recently released a new version, Dynamics GP 2016 R2. While we await further developments about Dynamics GP 2018, GP 2016 R2 is fully cloud enabled with the HTML5 Web Client and offers seamless connections to PowerBI using OData services, along with other improvements over the previous version. GPUG Amplify is a great conference for Customers and Partners to discover the latest solution innovations, attend educational breakout sessions, and connect directly with Microsoft to learn about the latest release of Microsoft Dynamics GP.
