We have a client that is currently using PDK in an older version of Dynamics GP and we will be upgrading then to GP2015. They currently have one user that uses PDK to enter Time sheets for multiple employees, will they still be able to have this functionality using the Web Client, or will each user be required to login and enter their own time and expenses.

Thanks,

Joe

If GP2015 allows you to define "Delegates" that should work the same for you in Web Client.

Does the user that does the time entry have access to GP2015 (will they) in full client mode?

We have a client that still insists on using PDK even though as Payroll Admin, she has access to enter transaction in the GP timesheet entry screen - go figure - get set in your way.

No, I think they will need an additional license. I will check out the delegation in GP2015. Thanks for your response.

We use Delegates in GP 2013 R2 Web and Classic client for this purpose.  I am sure it will work the same in GP2015

Joe, if you are curently licensed for BP in (say) GP10 - then as you move to GP2015 I have the understanding that the BP User license translate to some form of Web Client user.

That is where I am not clear.  But keep us posted, I am most interested in the outcome of this inquiry.

Thank you for the information. We will be doing a test upgrade in a few weeks, and I will be sure to update this with what I find.

It is my understanding if they have 10 BP users they will have 10 Web Client users + 3 additional users for every core user. So if they have 5 core users that's an additional 15 web client users. I will let you know for sure when we do the test upgrade.

Thanks for that Joe - looking forward to your testing.

Personal Data Keeper will be retired for GP 2015.  Users will use the new PTE Entry windows in GP to enter their Time.  They will be able to use Limited User functionality and can enter Timesheets on behalf of other users.

Here is a blog that goes over the discontinuation
