We are updating our NAV_2009 classic client to NAV_2016 RTC client. Currently, our Navision classic clients is installed with Citrix for the entire company.
Can anyone tell me what is the best practice to install NAV_20016 in our company (300 Users)?
For example should we use Click one?If yes why?
or should we use Citrix installation? If yes Why?
Ps: Please keep in mind that we update our Navision client each month at least one time (Keep our client up to date with Navision Cumulative Updates)
In my opinion, if you already use Citrix installation, it is better to continue with it due to:
1. Data Transfer is between 2 servers, Citrix and NAV servers, speed should be faster.
2. It is easier to apply NAV Cumulative Updates by copying with replace new NAV Client files.
Otherwise, NAV ClickOnce is good solution for your case.
Thanks a lot for your Replay.
I are thinking about deploying the ClickOne Solution, but I am little worried about ClickOne limitation. Regarding your point about Data Transfer, do you mean that with Citrix it is father than ClickOne?
Thanks in advance
1. What ClickOne limitations do you worry about?
2. Network speed between Citrix Server and NAV Server is normally fast as they can be in same office, or using lease line ... However ClickOne NAV Client is ok as it has been designed and upgraded to work over the internet (from NAV 2013 with 3 tiers).
