How to setup the Data Exchange Definition for Positive Pay where the Bank requires a Disposition on the detailed record with an "I" indicating an "Issued" check, and a "V" indicating a "Voided" check?Within the Data Exchange Definitions, we have the 'Void Check Indicator', but this only specifies when a detailed payment is voided. We need to add a 'Record Type Code'.NOTE - By default, within Code Unit 1704 - 'Exp. Pre-Mapping Det Pos. Pay', an issued check will be designated with an "O". Also, see below *** as there is a fix to for the 'Transformation Rule' we add.In this request, we'd need the following:1. "Record Type Code" within the 'Column Definition' for the "Detail" 'Line Definition'.2. Within the 'Field Mapping' for the "Detail" 'Line Definition', we can map our "Record Type Code" Column to the "Record Type Code" 'Field ID' within the Positive Pay Detail table.
3. Also, within the 'Field Mapping' for the "Record Type Code" mapping line added, we need to create a 'Transformation Rule' because we need an "I" indicating an "Issued" check. Add the Transformation Rule by following this...On the "Record Type Code" line within the 'Field Mapping', drill into the 'Transformation Rule' field and choose to create a New rule. On the Transformation Rule Card, choose the following...Code = REPLACE (Or whatever you like to call it)Description = Replace O with I (Or whatever you like to call it)Transformation Type = ReplaceFind Value = OReplace Value = I...and Click OK to choose the new REPLACE Transformation Rule on the "Record Type Code" field mapping.
***There is a fix in NAV2016 included in CU - Cumulative Update 8 so this REPLACE 'Transformation Rule' works. If you are not on at least CU 8, contact the Microsoft Dynamics NAV support team for a code fix.
This works when you only need to transform 1 record type. What do you do when you need to change the issued check code and voided check code to different values? For example, if I need an issued check to have a code of 123 and voided a code of 456, I can easily create a transformation rule to change one or the other. I do not see how both can be changed.
