I have created a report which gives me the opening advance balance of all the employees.In that report when I apply the filter for the particular employee,I get the proper balance of the employee.But if I apply only the date filter for all the employee in the report.It does not show the opening balance of the employee.What could be the problem?
Any kind of help will be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
In the report preview, go to Help -> About This Report and check whether you have any data to show in the report.
Hope it helps.
It does show me the required records but it does not display the opening balance of all the employees
If you can visualize the data and if your layout is correct, it must print it, as in your previous case with Employee filter. Do you have any code in your report? If yes, post it here, so that we can have a look around?
I have used the following code to calculate the advance amount of an employee.I have written the code in Employee-OnAfterGetRecord() trigger of the report:-
EmployeeFilter := Employee.GETFILTERS;
DateFilter_Employee := Employee.GETFILTER("Date Filter");
GLAccountFilter_Employee := '207010100';
Employee - OnPreDataItem()
Employee - OnAfterGetRecord()
EmpCumulativeBalance := 0;
StartBalance := 0;
IF DateFilter_Employee <> '' THEN
IF GETRANGEMIN("Date Filter") <> 0D THEN BEGIN
SETRANGE("Date Filter",0D,GETRANGEMIN("Date Filter") - 1);
SETFILTER("G/L Account Filter",GLAccountFilter_Employee);
StartBalance := "Advance Amount";
EmployeeAdvanceBalance := StartBalance;
Employee - OnPostDataItem()
G/L Entry - OnPreDataItem()
SETRANGE("G/L Account No.",'207010100');
G/L Entry - OnAfterGetRecord()
EmpCumulativeBalance := EmpCumulativeBalance + Amount;
G/L Entry - OnPostDataItem()
The above code works only if I apply the filter for a single employee.But for all the employees,It does not work.
Seems like no issues with the code. Did you debug your code to verify what could have gone wrong?
Also do check DataItemTableView, DataItemLink properties on G/L Entry DataItem and other filters that could potentially affect this cause.
Thanks for your help.Its solved now
