Is there any way to handle a breakdown of a machine into components i.e. disassembly?
We have a machines that often get broken down into individual components so they can be sold as separate items.
We only use the assembly module not manufacturing.
As standard no there is nothing for this. If you don't know what is in the machine yet it is harder to formulate a process for this in the system. If the assembly BOM is already in place you can log an item journal and then explode the BOM to do an "Entry Type" of positive adjustment for each of the component parts. In some cases this might be a head start and you just log the rest of the items. Could well be that some of the items don't exist in your system yet too.
Seen this work well for organisations that know the contents for example an abattoir get a whole Cow and that results in know components - i.e. specific cuts of meat.
