I have followed steps to install AL through VSIX & through extensions in Visual studio code.
I receive the error The package cache c:\Users\ajaysukhlal\Documents\AL\ALProject1\./.alpackages could not be found. in app.json file

I gave a try to the step as suggested in the post, but the error is same as I posted.
Okay, I assume you have tried all the methods mentioned in above post i.e. to clear credential cache and clear edit history.
As its OnPrem so open Business Central Administration and verify that is this service name is BC140 and is running and also verify the ports. Try to run Client attached to this service to verify its accessible.
Check if your user have proper rights.
