I am testing SL 2015 (CU1) with Work Orders and Project Inventory. Created a WO with Material Requirements, and created a PO using the Goods for Project Inventory type so that the Item is allocated to the WO Project. Received PO, and Inventory gets allocated to the WO Project just fine.
Went to the Work Order, and performed a Material Issue for the received item (there was no other OnHand/Available Qty for the item). The process created an Inventory issue, and the WO Project/Task were on the Issue transaction.
However, when I look at the Inventory Status Inquiry, the OnHand Qty is zero, but the Inventory Allocated to Projects still shows Qty 1.
Does the WO Material issue process also have the ability to relieve Project Inventory Allocations? I don't see any issue transaction in the INPrjAllocTranHist table.
Bumping this one to see if there are any comments or thoughts on why the Project Inventory is not getting unallocated when issued from Work Orders...

I spoke with a WO (Workorder) specialist.
The WO # is a project id and you cannot enter that into PO for a goods for Project type line. The material requirements has no project id field. I would say this is working as designed. They may want o look at SK’s Work Order Procurement solution.

23520- Inventory Issues can be released for Work Order related items using Project Allocated Inventory.
23519 - Purchase Order allows Goods for Project Inventory purchase for to be entered for a Work Order.
So it looks like they fixed all these bugs back in 2011 to not allow any Goods for Project to be entered for a workorder
To clarify, we did not use "Goods for Project" on the Purchase Order. We used "Goods for Project Inventory", which added the item and cost to Inventory, and also created a Project Inventory allocation. Client wanted this so that the item can only be used for that WO Project ID entered on the PO. We issued that item to the WO (it was the only on hand qty in the system), and the Material Issue relieved the OnHand Qty and Cost, but did not remove the Project Inventory Allocation.
Seems like bug 23519 is the situation where I was able to enter the WO Project ID on the PO, and use "Goods for Project Inventory". Is this supposed to be allowed? There was no restriction in my testing.
Also, bug 23520 seems to indicate that a WO is not allowed to consume Project Allocated Inventory (based on your description). Is this correct?
I really just want to know if we can use "Goods for Project Inventory" on PO's linked to WO Projects, and if the allocation should be removed when the materials are issued. We want to be able to allocate Inventory by WO Project in SL.
