I often have production orders were we report partial quantities as finished.  It brings the quantities back into inventory and uses the current average cost of the finished product as the cost on any sales orders that might be invoiced for that part.  Is there a setting that would allow me to recognize the actual cost for the partial that I reported as finished?  The only time this seems to happen is when you change the status to "End".

Ending is the only time WIP is reversed and the  true costs are posted through. You need to end production to push through actual costs. At the end of the order the inventory close process will push through all of the costs correctly.
