Community Badges: What Level Are You?

We've received an overwhelmingly positive response to the Community Badges released last month. Today, we're adding new "level badges" to more clearly illustrate your activity in the Community. As you complete all the badges in Level 1, you'll earn the "Level 1 Completed" badge and move on to Level 2. These badges are displayed at the bottom of your forum posts and on your blog articles to showcase your credibility as other members read your content.

As with the badge release last month, level badges are retroactive based on all the activities you've taken since you first joined. It will take several days for the badges to be awarded to all members and you'll receive an email notification when you earn your level badge(s).

Join 1 Product Group -- Join one or more product groups
Fan 1 -- Follow 1 member
Subscriber 1 -- Subscribe to 1 tag or keyword
Ask for Help 1 -- Ask 3 questions in a forum
A Picture is Worth a 1000 Words -- Add an avatar image on your profile

LEVEL 2

Fan 2 -- Follow 5 members
Subscriber 2 -- Subscribe to 5 tags or keywords
Troubleshooter 1 -- Respond to a forum question with a suggested answer 3 times
Problem Solver 1 -- 1 of your answers to a forum question is verified as solving a member's question

LEVEL 3

Troubleshooter 2 -- Respond to a forum question with a suggested answer 25 times
Problem Solver 2 -- 15 of your answers to forum questions are verified
Celebrity 2 -- 5 members are following you

Community Experts

Community experts are members of either the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) program or the Microsoft Community Contributor (MCC) badge program, as well as specific Microsoft employees. These members are very active in the community: answering forum questions, writing detailed blog articles, and tweeting useful information. As a result, we feature them prominently in the Experts widget on the product group home pages -- following them allows you to easily see all their activity via the Following tab on your product group home page. Note: In order to be featured in the Experts widget, you are required to have an avatar image uploaded.

MICROSOFT COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTORS (MCCs)
Every quarter we award the MCC badge to the top 5 members with the most verified answers within each product forum. These members have spent significant time providing helpful answers to other members' questions and can be identified with the following badge at the bottom of their forum posts.

MICROSOFT MOST VALUABLE PROFESSIONALS (MVPs)
MVPs are awarded to individuals based on their technical expertise and community contributions over the course of 12 months. Members who receive this award can be identified with the following badge at the bottom of their forum posts and on their blog articles. Learn more about becoming an MVP.

HELP EXPERTS BY VERIFYING THEIR ANSWERS
When a community member responds to your forum question with an answer that solves your question, help them out by verifying their answer. Verifying an answer can earn you the Thanks for the Help 1 and 2 badges, towards other members' progression to the MCC badge, and also makes it easier for members to find answers to their own questions when searching the community. Rewarding your Community Participation with Badges

Many members have requested an achievement or rewards system to illustrate their contribution within the community and to compete with other members -- today we're happy to announce "badges". You can earn badges based on completing specific activities within the community. All the badges you've earned are displayed on your profile, with the higher-value badges previewed on your forum questions and blog articles to showcase your credibility.

New community members earn an initial "You've earned your first badge" and existing members will be happy to know that badges are retroactive based on all the activities you've taken since you first joined. Ready to get started? Take a look at your badges and the overall leaderboard.

If you're attending Convergence, stop by booths 94 and 95 at the Microsoft Solutions Experience to learn more about badges and earn a special CONV13 badge from the Microsoft Dynamics Community team.

EARN BADGES
There are 4 types of badges, each worth a number of points based on the complexity of the badge requirements:
Specific badges -- Complete activities such as filling out specific fields in your profile or change your avatar image and you'll earn a badge.
Tiered badges -- Continue to complete certain activities such as writing blog articles or answering forum questions and you can earn higher tiered badges (e.g., you can earn the Troubleshooter 1 badge for responding to a forum question with a suggested answer 3 times and the Troubleshooter 2 badge when you reach 25 suggested answers).
Level badges [NEW!]-- Badges are organized into "levels" -- as you complete all the badges in a specific level, you'll earn a "level completed" badge. To earn the Level 1 badge, all you will need to do is join a product group, ask 3 questions in a forum, follow 1 other member, subscribe to 1 tag or keyword, and add an avatar image on your profile. Special badges -- Perform above-and-beyond to earn special awards, such as the product-specific Community Contributor badge, which is awarded quarterly to the top 5 members with the most verified answers to forum questions.

SHOWCASE YOUR CREDIBILITY
As you earn badges, they are displayed on the Badges tab of your profile, for all members to see. The following higher-valued badges are displayed at the bottom of your forum posts and on your blog articles to showcase your credibility as other members read your content:
Forums -- Problem Solver 4, and Troubleshooter 4
Blogs -- Blogger 3

In addition, if you are an MVP, product-specific Community Contributor, or member of one of the User Groups, a badge will also be displayed on your forum posts and blog articles.

COMPETE WITH OTHER MEMBERS
As you participate in the Microsoft Dynamics Community you can compete with other members in the following ways:
Friends -- Compare your badges and points to your friends by selecting the Badges tab on your profile and then selecting the Friends Leaderboard tab.
Everyone in the community -- Want to see how you compare to everyone in the community? Select the Leaderboard link from the Badges page within your product group.

EARN BADGES
Complete activities in the community (such as suggesting an answer to a forum question, writing a blog article, or uploading an avatar image) and earn a badge. Several different types of badges will be available, including tiered badges and level badges. SHOWCASE YOUR CREDIBILITY
Your badges are not only displayed on your profile, but the higher-value badges are displayed on your forum posts and blog articles to showcase your extra participation and credibility.

Managing Notification Settings

The latest update to the Microsoft Dynamics Community brought much greater control over how you receive email notifications. Use this guide to understand what your notification options are and manage the amount of email you receive based on your participation in the community.

NOTIFICATION SETTINGS
Use the "Email" tab of the Settings page to manage the following notification settings:

Receive Emails (Enabled) -- Disable to opt-out of all emails.
Send Notifications (Enabled) -- Disable to opt-out of subscription email notifications.
Enable Status Message & Comment Email Notifications (Enabled) -- Not used at this time.
Enable Conversations Notifications (Enabled) -- Disable to opt-out of email notifications when a member you're friends with sends you a private conversation.
Conversations (Friends Only) -- Specify who can send you private conversations.
Group Subscriptions (None) -- Opt-in to daily or weekly email subscriptions for all activity in the product groups you're a member of.

Use the "Subscriptions" tab of the Settings page to manage the following notification settings:

Notification Frequency (Daily) -- Specify the frequency in which you want to receive subscription email notifications.

Your Community Profile and Privacy Settings

The latest update to the Microsoft Dynamics Community brought several changes to your profile, so we've put this guide together so you can understand how your profile and activity is shared with the community and how you can adjust your privacy settings.

YOUR PROFILE
There are 2 main fields that define your profile, which you entered when you first signed up for the Microsoft Dynamics Community:

Screen Name (Migrated) -- This is the URL for your profile (e.g., https://community.dynamics.com/members/ericpar/default.aspx) and cannot currently be changed.
Name (Migrated) -- Your name used throughout the community, including at the top of the profile and when your activity is shared. You may change this at any time via the Settings page. You can either use your full name or, if you want a greater sense of anonymity, a nickname or other form of recognition.

The remaining fields that make up your profile are all publicly available. If you do not wish to share this information, simply do not enter a value into the field. Please take a few minutes to review your profile, as many of the fields previously found in the Organization and Professional sections of your profile have been removed and several new social fields have been added. In addition, there are 5 fields that have values provided for them based on if you used them in your previous profile.

Avatar (Migrated) -- Your avatar image is displayed alongside your community activity as you participate in the community. Many members use a personal photo, but if you want more anonymity you may leave this empty and a default image will be used, or you can use a more generic image instead.
About (Migrated) -- If you previously provided information in this field, it will be defaulted here. In addition, this field is a good place to further describe other professional information about yourself, such as your title and additional information about your company.
First Name, Last Name (New / Empty) -- As a result of changing the way your name is used in the community, we have not defaulted in any values you previously entered. If you wish to share your first and last name, enter it here.
Location (New / Empty) -- The previous fields related to your location have been removed, so if you would like to share your location, enter it here.
Company (New / Empty) -- The previous fields related to your organization have been removed, so if you would like to share the name of the company you represent, enter it here. When members visit your profile, they can click on this value and will be brought to search results of all members with the same company name entered.
Public Email (Migrated) -- If you previously provided a public email address, it will be defaulted here. Note that this is separate from the (Microsoft Account) email address you use to sign in with.
Twitter (New / Empty)
LinkedIn (New / Empty)
YouTube (New / Empty)
Blog (Migrated) -- If you previously shared your blog URL, it will be defaulted here.
Website (Migrated) -- If you previously shared your website URL, it will be defaulted here.

ACTIVITY FEED
As you participate in the community, by default many of your actions are shared in the activity feed displayed on your profile, as well as the activity feeds on the home page and product group home pages.

If you wish to delete a specific action you've taken, you may go to your profile, click the "Activity" tab, and click "Delete" for the action. If you wish to prevent specific actions from ever being displayed in your activity feed, you may change the following settings from the "Advanced Options" tab on the Settings page:

New User Avatar (Enabled) -- Shares when you change your avatar image.
New Friendship (Enabled) -- Shares when you accept a friend request from another member or a member accepts your friend request.
Site Activities (Enabled) -- Not used at this time.
New Blog (Enabled) -- Shares when a new blog is created in a group you're a member of.
New Blog Post (Enabled) -- Shares when you post a new blog article.
New Blog Comment (Enabled) -- Shares when you comment on a blog article.
New Forum (Enabled) -- Shares when a new forum is created in a group you're a member of.
New Forum Thread (Enabled) -- Shares when you post a new question to a forum.
New Forum Post (Enabled) -- Shares when you respond to a question in a forum.
Media Gallery Activities (Enabled) -- Not used at this time.
New Group Member (Enabled) -- Shares when you join a product group.
Wiki Activities (Enabled) -- Not used at this time.

GROUPS
The product groups you've joined are shared via this tab, allowing other members to see the Microsoft Dynamics products you are associated with.

FRIENDS
Any friend requests that you've approved are displayed on this tab. If a member has sent you a friend request you'll be able to approve that here, as well as see any friend requests you've sent to other members that are waiting for their approval.

FAVORITES
By default, any community items you add to your favorites are shared via this tab. If you wish to prevent these from being shared, you may change the following setting from the "Basic Options" tab of the Settings page:

Share Favorites (Enabled) -- Shares any items you've marked as favorites.

BLOG POSTS
Any blog posts that you've authored are shared via this tab, to allow other members to discover your community contributions.

Introducing Subscriptions

Many of you have been asking for ways to follow specific topics within the community. Today we've launched the "Subscriptions" feature, which allows you to do just that. Subscriptions are a great way to stay up-to-date on topics that are important to you. Here are some of the highlights:

FOLLOW TAGS
When members add tags to forum posts and blog articles, you can easily subscribe to those tags by clicking the "Subscribe" link.

CREATE KEYWORDS
If you'd like to subscribe to other phrases, you can add keywords via the "Subscriptions" tab on the Settings page. If you want to subscribe to the keyword for all product groups you've joined, select the "Site Root" option -- otherwise select the specific product group.

VIEW SUBSCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULE EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS
You can view your subscriptions from the home page or the home page for any product group that you've joined.

Your subscriptions are set to send you a daily email notification by default. You can change that to weekly or opt-out of email notifications.

MANAGE YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS
If your subscriptions include too much or too little information, it's easy to edit your keywords or unsubscribe from specific keywords.

Welcome to the New Microsoft Dynamics Community

Today we've launched a new update to the Microsoft Dynamics Community. It's now easier to signup, navigate and search in the community, and stay up-to-date on information you're interested in.

QUICK SIGNUP
We've made it much faster to join the Microsoft Dynamics Community -- now all it takes is to create a screen name (which is used for the URL to your profile page), enter your name, and select a product group to join.

JOIN PRODUCT GROUPS
Participating in a product-specific community (such as asking a question in a forum, commenting on a blog, or creating a subscription) now requires you to join the group. New members can join right from the signup page. Existing members will see an orange "join" button at the top of the page -- click it, and you're ready to participate.

UPDATED NAVIGATION
The navigation has been updated to provide quick access to everything available, whether you're on the home page or within a product community.

You'll also find three new options in the upper-right of the site: Conversations, Favorites, and Settings. Conversations are private messages you've received from other members. The "Favorites" menu displays any blogs or forums that you've added as a favorite.

You can also favorite individual forum posts, blog articles, and videos and access them from the "Favorites" tab on your Profile page, available via either clicking your name in the upper right area or by clicking the "View All" link on the "Favorites" menu.

Use the Settings link to set preferences such as your time zone, email preferences, and manage your subscriptions.

IMPROVED SEARCH
You can now filter your search results by the type of information you're looking for, author, tags, and date.

STAY UP-TO-DATE WITH SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscribe to topics that are important to you by following author-provided tags or creating your own keywords. View your subscriptions on the home page or schedule email notifications (daily or weekly). Learn more about Subscriptions

FOLLOW EXPERTS
You can now follow community members and easily view all the community information they've authored via the activity feed on the home page. We've also highlighted specific experts on the product group home pages, who are key community contributors.

UPDATED PROFILES
We've simplified your profile and removed many of the fields previously found in the Organization and Professional sections of your profile. If you've used these fields in the past, you'll want to take a minute to update your new profile. You'll also now have the ability to share your social contact information, including Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Learn more about your Community Profile and Privacy Settings

We've also made it much easier to add community members as friends, which allows you to follow their activity and send them private conversations (requires the member to accept the friend request). If you've used the previous "Business Card" capability, you'll want to take a few minutes and send new friend requests to those individuals.

SUGGESTED ANSWER REMINDERS
When a community member answers your forum post, they can mark it as a "Suggested Answer", which will send you an email asking you to verify their answer. If you haven't verified the answer and it's been 5 days with no other responses to your forum post, we'll send you a one-time reminder to verify the answer. Verifying an answer makes it easier for other members to find solutions to their questions. Learn more about Managing Notification Settings

POST QUESTIONS TO THE FORUMS QUICKER
You can now quickly create a new question at the top of the forum page. Remember to add descriptive tags that other members can follow to create subscriptions!

ATTEND COMMUNITY EVENTS
We've added a new calendar feature to product groups which provides a central location for all community learning opportunities. Help the community and market your own events by adding them to the calendar.

Starting this month, top contributors within the Microsoft Dynamics community will be recognized by the Microsoft Community Contributor badge. Those selected will have a the “MCC” badge appear in all forum responses within the community and will have the opportunity to highlight more about themselves on the official Microsoft Community Contributor web page. Though the recognition lasts for 90 days, all community participants will be eligible for consideration and new recipients are selected quarterly.

The Microsoft Community Contributor badge seeks to recognize notable contributions to Microsoft online communities such as TechNet, MSDN® and Microsoft Community. The value of these resources is greatly enhanced by participants who voluntarily contribute their time and energy to improve the online community experience for others. Earlier this summer we asked for development questions for Microsoft Dynamics AX. Due to the high demand for our expert's time there was a little bit of a delay but with help from the Microsoft Dynamics AX Support team we are able to get the questions answered as best as possible below.

Question 1
Batch Framework and Managed Code:

I have been struggle for several months with this issue. Batch framwork executes CIL code and will call into a Managed Code dll, but there is no session object and/or runtimeContext to allow use of ttsbegin and ttscommit calls. Therefore, a managed code dll will not work under the Batch Framework. Any suggestions. I have been having an struggle getting Microsoft support to understand the issue.

Another issue I have come across is in kernel version 6.1.1108.403 the AX debugger crashes the AX client with a "unknown error in an unknown file'" - this has a syslog entry of MSVCR90.dll

9.0.30729.6161 when attempting to change the cursor position in an update method.

Hi John,

To review where we are with this, our Development team reviewed the issue initially and determined the behavior to be by design.

The RuntimeContext is set during the construction of the ClrBridge and is related to the thread, but when running in batch no ClrBridge is created and a new thread will be created so no RuntimeContext is saved.

I am trying to set up muliple EP Websites for multiple AOS instances on a single computer but unable to find the location of AX Configuration files i.e. axc files in web.config as per Steps 4 & 5 as per tech net link below.

You need to create the AXC configuration files using the Dynamics AX 2012 Configuration utility and choose Manage | save configuration file as...

I would recommend saving the AXC file in the same location as the WEB.config file you will be editing and making sure it has the connect AOS server and port and the correct WSDL port specified and that the Refresh Configuration is clicked on the connection after making the port changes and before saving out the AXC file for each environment.

I have a trouble with export to Excel function of AX. When I try to export data from some of my custom forms, the client crashes. This form is joining data from about 9 table and perhaps some others to display info like WorkerName, etc. I tried to search on forums for workaround, but, got little help.

Can you help me get around with this?

Answer:

Hi Michael,

I'm not sure we have enough information here, but often crashing issues can be resolved by installing the latest kernel build. This Excel export problem was more commonly reported on early builds of AX 2009 but most of those issues were resolved by RU8. On AX 2012 we don't have many reports of this problem, but if a later kernel build doesn't take care of it, I would suggest reviewing the custom form for inconsistencies, invalid properties, etc.

You will definitely want to check the Event Viewer as well on the machine where the error occurs, since you will probably find more detail about the cause of the crash there.

I have some basic idea of how to work on Report on AX SSRS and pass parameters.

I can work only on report if I need to fetch data from one table only.

Hi Somanna,

Since this is a rather generic question about customizing SSRS reports, we'll break this up in 2 parts

General SSRS report development
- I'd suggest that you look at online material from the SQL group or other 3^rd party learning material.
Using AX with SSRS reports

If used to working with AX then I recommend to start off with using AX (AOT) Queries to get all the data you need for the main table of the report. Using AX Queries, you can add additional tables via nested joins. Also (and this is the important part) you can apply ranges on the AX Queries for data that you want to filter. Once you have the AX Query created, this can be used as a data source in AX SSRS reports. If the AX Query has a range, then that will automatically come over as an SSRS report parameter for you (no additional action is needed).

Not all reports can be created from AX Queries. For those that have more advanced logic, there is a new reporting concept in AX 2012 called Report Data Provider or RDP for short. RDP is what is used for GL Trial Balances and AR/AP Aging reports.

On the SSRS report side there are 2 main ways of creating report designs

Auto design - way to use drag and drop to create report layouts easily.
Precision design - for advanced formatting and the way more core SSRS developers are familiar with.

1) How can we change the background of the Area page (Common,Reports,Periodic,setup sections) which is white in color to the image of my clients company logo or any other image.

Hello Harshad,

The background of the area page has not been exposed to be changed via code. If Enterprise Portal is installed, this is what is used when the home button is pushed. By manipulating the sharepoint page that is displayed, you might be able to get a logo to display when that functionality is used, but in general, you can't modify the background of the area page.

Example: Create a C# assembly that opens a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Form

A new feature of the Managed Interop to X++ functionality is the ability to open a Microsoft Dynamics AX presentation object (for example, a form). This example will demonstrate that functionality.

Flow of the Following Scenario

This section describes a managed interop scenario that starts in an X++ job. The phases of the whole scenario are the following:

The X++ job is started, and it calls the C# method.
The C# method obtains a reference to the current RuntimeContext that the X++ job is using.
The C# method uses the RuntimeContext object to instantiate and initialize the menufunction object. Notice that a different form is to be opened depending upon the parameter that is passed into the static method.
The menufunction object run method is called to run the desired form.

C# Code Example

The following C# code example contains one class that has one static method.

The crucial line of code is the call to the AXMI.RuntimeContext.Current method. This returns a valid RuntimeContext because the C# method was called from an X++ method. The code does not need to call the AXMI.Session.Logon method.

Notice in the C# code above, I have included comments that contain the X++ code that would do the same functionality for comparison purposes.

Once the user context object is populated, it then uses the CreateObject method call to instantiate and initialize the Microsoft Dynamics AX object. Once that is done, the Call method of that object is used to call the Microsoft Dynamics AX Run method, which opens the form.

Critical:

Remember that the runtime context as used above is ONLY available when the X++ object calls into the assembly. The runtime context is retrieved based on the USER that is running the code that is calling the assembly. This should allow usage data to be saved for that user in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Starting the execution of the same code shown above from within a C# application will NOT open a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 form. The logging in with a session object and calling a form will do nothing.

Consider the following code existing as a button click on a C# form:

X++ Job Example

The following X++ code example is a job that calls the previous C# method.

· I have a question about adding functionality to existing Base Enums.

What is the "correct" or desired way to add an extra element to an existing base enum? For example SalesStatus on the SalesLine and SalesTable. Say I want to add a new status called "picked". I know that this enum is called over 300 times in x++ to compare if this line or table can do some functionality. That is something I am keeping in mind that I will have to make adjustments. Do I add the new element at the end? Effectively making None = 0, Backorder = 1, Delivered = 2, Invoiced = 3, Canceled = 4, then add "picked" as 5. OR would I change the int values to make it more in order? Ex: None = 0, Backorder = 1, "picked" = 2, Delivered = 3, Invoiced = 4, Canceled = 5? Or is there a better more desired way that I am not thinking of? This seems like something that others would be doing as well adding an additional element to an enum. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:
Hello,

When creating an addition to an enum value, you generally want to append your additions to the end of the enum values, and NOT modify the existing values. So, in your example, if an enum has 4 selections (enum values 0,1,2,3), you should add an additional value (4) and assign it the label of your choice. Append your additions to existing enums, and don't modify our values, as this could cause upgrade issues with data at a later time.

I have a question regarding development methodology. I am trying to find the best method of using TFS to track our changes as well as how we should migrate code through our environments.

So we have 6 developers with their own AOS, and then we have a build AOS, a TEST AOS, then a UAT / pre-production machine and then several production boxes. Each developer is checking their code into TFS and then TFS does a nightly check out and build on the build machine.

What is the best way to migrate those code changes to the other environments. Between UAT and production I plan to use model stores, but between dev, test and UAT I am less sure. I was thinking about using branching and having a branch for each environment and then manually moving change-sets between environments. Does this sound like it will work? If I find a bug in the code in UAT how easily will it be to roll back the changes that caused the bug or would it be better to push a fix forward?

Answer:

Hi Nick,

If you have TFS hooked up to each of those environments then you can definitely use TFS and branching to move your changes between them. If I were a build manager this is what I would.

Moving changes backward is always a tricky thing, regardless of what tool you use (or even if you don't use a tool). It is mostly a process issue because you have to remember that you need to move the change backward which you probably don't do very often. I would say to push a fix forward because that stays true to the general development process. You don't want to have your team making fixes in UAT. If you have to push a fix backwards, it could get tricky especially if the fix involves creating a brand new object. For example, say in UAT you find a bug and it requires a new class. You create that class in UAT and then you use xpos (via TFS) to move that fix down to your development environment. When the xpo goes into your development environment it is going to get a different id. Then 6 months or a year later, in dev you've been building up changes to that class and you move it up to UAT via an xpo then you have an id conflict because the object already exists and you have to deal with that mess. If you stay consistent and move your fixes forward then this scenario is avoided and you keep your process intact.

What Should You Look For, and Look Out For, at Decisions Spring 2012?

With Decisions Spring 2012 kicking off on June 18, now is a great time to look at some of the things we have learned about our Decisions virtual events based on attendee feedback. Fortunately, there has been much more that attendees liked, and benefited from, than the other way around.

Here are some of the more interesting insights we have learned from attendees that we thought would be useful for those attending this conference. Read on for some details here, then register (it's free) to attend our upcoming June event to decide for yourself:

60% of our attendees are virtual conference first-timers. With five virtual events under our belt already, it’s natural that more and more attendees will be returning a second time. But the vast majority of survey respondents tell us that they are still virtual conference newbies.
Over 60% of attendees don’t attend any other Dynamics conferences throughout the year. Of those who do attend other events, Convergence is the most popular, followed by the Dynamics user group Summit/Forum events, along with the more well known partner events like Directions and Extreme CRM.
Attendees are evenly split between users and implementers. This is one of the great characteristics of the Decisions events, in our opinion. The mix of attendees makes for very interesting Q&A sessions at the presentations as well as in the chat areas of the auditorium and networking lounge.
85% of attendees were positive on the last event... And 95% weren't negative. Or more specifically, 85% were positive on it, while 10% were neutral. Of the negatives, some people wanted more technical content, and connectivity - a prerequisite of a smooth virtual event - caused headaches for some participants. But the numbers for these issues appeared to stay low. Some of the more specific feedback included things like:
- “liked listening in to sessions without having to travel”
- “Good to be able to hear from those MVPs”
- “Good, useful information! I wish there was more!”
- ”...hoping for recordings of missed presentations”.
- “i liked the honest opinions of the presenters (the good & bad about features). It's refreshing to hear honest feedback and not a typical sales pitch from vendors.”
All respondents found the presentations and exhibitors they were looking for. 12% told us the navigation could have been easier, and we will be putting in place some new measures to try make it even simpler to get to the right sessions at the right times. We're also adding more guidance to find the exhibitors most aligned with your business interests.

Some of the feedback noted that the Agenda page within the event was very helpful for getting directly into the right sessions. And keeping up with the full schedule could be challenging since there were always multiple sessions running simultaneously. But thanks to on-demand access after the event, none of those sessions need to be missed completely.
What were the most popular sessions? We ask our attendees to rate the sessions they attended so we know what kinds of content are most interesting. The most popular sessions at the fall event included the Microsoft product manager keynotes on things like Social CRM and Microsoft’s Dynamics ERP Cloud strategy, the expert panels (which really are a lot of fun), and a certain speakers who have really honed their speaking skills over the years. Many of those standouts are people you may already know, including returning speakers with great new sessions like Mark Polino (GP), Mariano Gomez (GP), Belinda Allen (GP), Guy Riddle (CRM), Rick McCutcheon (CRM), Vjeko Babic (NAV), and Derek Krebs (Management Reporter), among many others.
The Exhibit Hall is a valuable resource for visitors. 94% of attendees visited the exhibit hall, with 89% reporting that they found at least one booth where they learned something useful about a Dynamics-related product or service. And 99% of attendees reported that booth staff were helpful and professional, as we would expect.
