Multiple Ways to Check On-Hand Inventory in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Keeping track of your on-hand inventory is crucial for efficient inventory management. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central provides a straightforward way to view this information. Here’s how you can do it:

Accessing On-Hand Inventory via Sales Order

  1. Navigate to a Sales Order: Start by opening any sales order. You can create a new one or use an existing one.
  2. Item Availability by Line:
    • On the Sales Order page, go to the Lines section.
    • Click on Functions, then choose Item Availability by Line. This option shows the availability of the specific item selected in the order line, allowing you to see how much stock is available without leaving the sales order.

Using the Item List

  1. Go to the Item card or Item List: From the main menu, select Items to open the Item List.
  2. View On-Hand Inventory:
    • In the Item List, look for the Item Availability by view, which shows each item's current on-hand stock levels.
    • You can further refine this by using filters. For instance, you might want to see only items below a certain stock level or items available at a specific location.

Conclusion

By utilizing these tools within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can maintain better control over your inventory, ensuring that you have the right products in the right quantities at the right time. This not only optimizes operational efficiency but also enhances customer satisfaction by ensuring prompt order fulfillment.
