I'm trying to create a workflow that will do the following:

 

If the Service Activity is not closed by 4:30pm of the date it was closed, then send an email to the owner of the service Activity reminding them to close that activity.


Is there a way to determine what 'today' is and a time in a workflow?

If you wan to use workflow/Process current datetime (execution datetime) then please see following screen shots

Neither of those do what I asked.

I want the workflow to trigger at 430 pm on the day the service activity was opened and check if the service activity is closed. If it is not then to send an email reminder to close it.

Oh Sorry I miss understood,

In this situation, we have to write windows service, which will trigger a workflow in CRM at everyday 4:30 pm.

I tried to set another workflow to trigger child workflow with “waiting condition”. (Waiting until execution time 4:30) but we cannot separate it out date and time in CRM

Your query is really interesting and strong.

Hi

I am writing a Windows Service Solution for you which can trigger workflow every day 4:30 PM

Here I have one question about following requirnment.

"If the Service Activity is not closed by 4:30pm of the date it was closed, then send an email to the owner of the service Activity reminding them to close that activity."

Before closing the Service activity how CRM will konw that what time it will be closed

I mean, how can we find the closing date if service activity is not closed

Please reply, I am preparing/writing Window service (Like Timer) for you

I forgot to put If the Service Activity is not closed by 4:30pm on the date it is scheduled to end, then send an email at 4:30pm every day.

For example:

I put a service activity from 3-5 for today

4:30pm comes and that service activity is still open, send an email to the owner of that service activity to remind them to close the activity.

another example:

I had a service activity i put in for 1-2pm for today and forget to close it.

4:30pm comes around and sends an email reminding me to close it
